Roy Lee Fowler, 86, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII. After 33 years of service he retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a former deacon of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Louise; sons Dennis and Linda Fowler of Senoia, Donnie and Jeannie Fowler of Riverdale, Michael and Diane Fowler of Atlanta; grandchildren Amee Gilleland, Ginger Weido, Hal Fowler, Matthew Fowler, Laura Lavin, Lisa Fowler, and Chris Fowler; 15 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Overton Chapel of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church with the Reverend Glenn Stringham officiating. Mr. Fowler will lie in state from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. The burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
