Obituary for Wanda Lee Kollmeyer

Wanda Lee Kollmeyer, age 90, of Fayetteville, Georgia, died suddenly and peacefully Sunday, August 19. She was born September 12, 1927, in Fair Play, Missouri, to Everett and Naomi York. She lived 40 years in Hawaii with her first husband until his death. Then Wanda lived in Oregon and Springfield, Missouri, where she met and married Glen C. Kollmeyer in 2006. She and Glen moved to Azalea Estates Assisted Living in Fayetteville, Georgia, in 2014 to be near Glen’s son, Pastor Justin Kollmeyer.

A strong and faithful Christian, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield, Missouri, and attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fayetteville. She loved to sing the Hymns of The Faith. She will be remembered by all who knew and loved her as a dear, sweet lady.

Wanda is survived by her sister, Helen Harralson; her son, John Durham and wife Cassandra; her daughter, Leesa Bright and her family Bill and Cody Bright; great- grandchildren, Sawyer and Ivy Ana Bright; and many family members on Glen’s side.

A Memorial Service will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Fayetteville, Georgia, on Sunday, August 26, at 3:00 p.m., with The Rev. Dr. Justin P. Kollmeyer officiating.
