On January 18, one week before Quince Lamar went to be with Jesus, Samuel Quince Long was born to Sam and Jenna Long and on January 24, Quince got to see and hear his great-grandson via facetime.

Quince served on the Bartow County School Board for 3 terms and became Chairman of the Board in 1977. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons at Tabernacle Church. His passion for life was to be a Soul Winner. He wanted to carry all of his friends and family to Heaven. He had three sisters who have preceded him in death, Annette Waters, Anita Thompson and Lila Jones who he loved dearly. Annette led him to Christ, Lila got him a job, and Anita was his playmate growing up. Quince was so loved by wife, parents and sibling and all nieces and nephews.
