Obituary for Marion Joan Cook

Joan Cook, 77, of Griffin passed away May 13, 2018. Joan was born in College Park on August 29, 1940 to the late Robert and Marjorie Anderson.

Joan worked as a school bus driver for the Fayette County Board of Education and was also a longtime member of Wildwood Baptist Church in Griffin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charles Cook. She is survived by daughter, Krista (Joe) Martin, son, Brian (Julie) Cook, and daughter, Karla Allgood. Grandchildren include Joseph Martin, Patrick Martin, Alyssa Cook, J.D. DeRossett, Dennise DeRossett, Caleb Allgood, and Jake Allgood. Great-grandchildren include Corbin DeRossett, Landon DeRossett, and Elise DeRossett.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City with burial following at Alto Mud Creek Church Cemetery, Cornelia at 3:00 PM. The family will receive visitors Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
