Obituary for Henricus Volkert Smit

Henricus Volkert Smit, 76, of Peachtree City passed away May 18, 2018. Henricus was born in Aruba, Netherland Antilles, on April 18, 1942 to the late Martinus and Engelina Smit. He graduated from Kansas State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree and then he began his career at Delta Air Lines, as a pilot and flew for 32 years. He was very active in several ministries at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, including adult religious education and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the leg movement of Regnum Christi.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Smit; daughters, Danielle (Michael) Rodgers of Denver and Lindsay Smit of Nashville; grandchildren, Emerson, Elliott, and Eleanor Rodgers.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 9:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City, with burial immediately following at Westminster Memorial Gardens.
