Obituary for Harold Lloyd Barber

Harold Lloyd Barber, 92, of Morrow, passed away July 2, 2018. Harold was born on December 20, 1925 in Wilmar, Arkansas to Jesse and Tommie Barber. He served in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Harold was a retired Air Traffic Controller at the Hampton Air Traffic Control Center. He also owned his own fishing tackle company. He was an avid fisherman, salt water and fresh, and liked to garden.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Barber and his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Jan Barber McCann; grandchildren, Clayton Adam (Brandy) McCann and Taylor Lloyd (Kelli) McCann; great-grandchildren, Connor, Daisy, Gramm, and Lakyn; and sisters, Willie Basham and Bobbie Sue Anderson.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Dr. J.W. Wallis officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, www.stjude.org.
