Obituary for Edward Bernard Kleppinger, Jr.

Edward Bernard Kleppinger, Jr., 80, of Jonesboro passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017. He was born on January 10, 1937 in Bethlehem, PA to the late Margaret and Edward B. Kleppinger. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Ed proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He spent his career in telecommunications working as a regional manager with several companies, including Northern Telecom and GTE, where he received many awards and recognitions. Ed was a member at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church for 50 years, where he served on the Finance Council and was a Minister of Hospitality for many years. He was also active in the Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight from 2004-2006.

Ed is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rose Marie; his sons, Edward (wife, Devy) and Michael; his grandchildren, Parker, Greyson, Cooper, Samuel and Caden; and a large extended family.

A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, Jonesboro, with Father John Koziol as Celebrant. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday evening, April 11, 2017 at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with a rosary following at 7:00 PM. Burial will follow at a later date in Bethlehem, PA.
