Obituary for Dorothy Janell Yawn

Dorothy Janell Yawn, 80, of Jonesboro passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017. She was born on April 5, 1937 in Seville, GA to Bishop and Sadie Barefoot. She was a Cafeteria Manager for the City of Atlanta Public School System.

Janell was preceded in death by her husband, Willie C. Yawn, her parents and her sister, Wilma Froelich. She is survived by her daughters, Katherine (Danny) Meyers and Beverly Ellis; her sons, Jerry (Sheri) Yawn and Dale Yawn; her grandchildren, Jason Meyers, Heather Cash, Brandi Bennett, Joseph Yawn, Joshua Yawn, Destiny Blair; her great-grandchildren, Morgan Bennett, Addison Bennett, Nathaniel Yawn, McKenzie Yawn, Ayden Yawn, Gabrielle Cash; her brother, Alfred Barefoot; her sisters, Joyce Pomahatch, Katie Gardener, Charlotte McInvale, Brenda Johnson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Janell will be at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel, with Pastor Irvin Pearre officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Jonesboro. The family will receive friends from 10:00-12:00 Noon prior to the service at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made in memory of Janell to the Alzheimers Association,
