Obituary for Dollie Pearl Griffin

Dollie Pearl Griffin, 79, of Union City passed away on May 5, 2017 at Christian City. She was born in Newnan, GA on November 21, 1937 to Louise Marie and Travis Henry Haynes. She was a long-time member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, Sharpsburg, GA, where she was saved.

Dollie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, James W. “Pete” Griffin, Sr.; her sisters, Mildred Hemmings, Doris Whatley, Sara Landers, Shirley Tenney, and Virginia Winkles; her brothers, Sketch Haynes, Henry Haynes, Horace Haynes, Buddy Haynes and L.B. Haynes. She is survived by her children, Linda (Bobby) Cason of Newnan; Priscilla (George) Letourneau of Sharpsburg; and Robert (Debbie) Winkles of Sharpsburg; her step-children, James (Tanda) Griffin, Jr. of Senoia, and Karen (Clayton) Bone of Covington; her sister, Josephine Jones of Newnan; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel. Burial will follow the service at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery, 2607 New Hope Road, Monticello, GA 31064. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the hospice program at Christian City, 7300 Lester Road, Union City, GA 30291.
