Obituary for Brenda Turner Terrell

Brenda Turner Terrell of Newnan, GA (formerly of Salem, VA) passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017.

Brenda was born on Wednesday, June 11, 1941 in Bedford County, VA to William Joseph and Ruth Creasy Turner. She attended Montvale Elementary until her family moved to Roanoke, VA, where she attended Jamison and Morningside Elementary, Jackson Junior High School, and Jefferson High School.

She met the love of her life at Lakeside Amusement Park while waiting in line for the Mountain Speedway Roller Coaster. She and Wayne married in 1960 and remained a loving couple until his death 44 years later.

Brenda loved the Lord and was a faithful church member from her baptism as a child at Flint Hill Baptist Church (Bedford, VA), through her adult years at Waverly Place Baptist Church (Roanoke, VA), and at Heatherwood Baptist Church after moving to Newnan, Georgia.

She dearly loved her three children and five grandchildren as well as many close friends and neighbors.

Her favorite things were keeping a warm, inviting home, visiting with friends, watching the birds in her yard, traveling, and enjoying beautiful flowers.

Brenda is predeceased by her parents and her husband, Wayne Lee Terrell. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Donna Faye Terrell (Alpharetta, GA) and Laurie Ann Terrell (Clemmons, NC); son, Gregory Lee Terrell and daughter-in-law, Terri Terrell (Newnan, GA); grandsons, William Andrew Terrell (Atlanta, GA), Adam Foster Terrell (Atlanta, GA), and Nathan Lee Bradley (Clemmons, NC); and her granddaughters, Heather Leigh Bradley, (Clemmons, NC) and Molly Catherine Terrell (Newnan, GA).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, GA on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM with interment at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City, GA.

The family will welcome friends at Brenda’s home anytime Monday and from noon until 2:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral chapel.

While flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be made to The Seekers Sunday School Class of Heatherwood Baptist Church 721 Shenandoah Blvd Newnan, GA 30265 to assist in their ongoing benevolent ministries.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Kindred Hospice for their care and compassion to Mom.
