Obituary for Albania Larue Ellis

Albania Larue Ellis, affectionally known as "Baner", was born in Clay, Kentucky on May 15, 1921. She was the oldest daughter of Hugh and Goldie Wilson. She was an original “Rosie the Riveter” and helped build aircraft parts during World War II. Albania married her husband, the late Charles Gordon Ellis, in St. Louis, MO and later moved to Atlanta, GA. She worked as a nursing assistant for 40 years at South Fulton Hospital and retired in 1984 to enjoy her family. She was a Christian and read her bible daily.

Albania was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Margaret (Wilbur) Brizius, Tommy Wilson, Jerry Wilson and Peggy Wilson. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Carpenter; her five grandchildren, Gayle (Tim) Durden, Tommy Carpenter, Steve (Mary) Carpenter, Tim (Gloria) Carpenter and Becky Stone; siblings, Bobbie (James) Davis and Janet (Gene) Ford, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The family will have a time of remembrance with family and friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel.
