John Borders

John William Borders, 82, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Mr. Borders was born June 20, 1926 in Coweta County, GA. He was a Baptist Minister for 19 years and served at Lisbon Baptist Church as well as Friendship Baptist Church in Fairburn. He is preceded in death by his wife, of 38 years, Edna Smith Borders. He is survived by his wife, Alice Clark Borders, of 22 years; sons, Michael Borders and his wife Donna of Fayetteville, Steven Borders and his wife Vicki of Williamson, David Borders and his wife Sandy of Fayetteville, Philip Borders and his wife Debra of LaGrange; grand children, Scott Borders, Brent Borders, Kim McNair, Matt Borders, Haley Brown, Jennifer Borders, Denny Borders, Brian Borders, Andrea Borders and Rebecca Borders; 7 great grand children; sister, MaryAnn Carroll.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Lisbon Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Carlton Swicegood officiating. Family will receive friends Friday, November 21, 2008 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville. www.mowellfuneralhome.com
