Sylvester W. Smith

Sylvester W. Smith, age 86 of Fayetteville died Saturday, November 15, 2008. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Army and was a former Instructor with DeKalb College. He was preceded in death by his parents Sylvester and Eunice (Mears) Smith and a sister. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Elaine (Hooper) Smith of Fayetteville; son Mark S. (Janet) Smith of Daytona Beach, FL; grandsons Jason Smith of Fayetteville, Samuel Smith of Daytona Beach, FL and his nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, 4PM in the Chapel of the Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville. The Rev. Paul Carrier will officiate. Condolences

I am sorry to hear of your loss. Death is a horrible enemy that man can't escape. We can find comfort to help us during these hard times. Luke 20:38 tells us that He is a God, not of the dead, but of the living, for they are all living to him. God's will not forget those who have died and he has provided a hope for them. Acts 24:15 states that there will be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous. Aren't these wonderful thoughts? We will be able to see our loved ones under God's loving care.
