Mary “Frances” Phillips, age 91 of Fayetteville went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 22, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Parker L. Phillips; son Gary Phillips; parents Rufus B. and Arrie (Thorton) Butler; brothers Merrill and Marvin Butler; sisters Hazel Davenport and Addie Oakley. She is survived by her daughter Gail (Don) Newhart of Fayetteville; sisters Ida Belle Jackson of Fayetteville, Evelyn Phillips of Fayetteville, Dot (Dorin) Milam of Tyrone, Jean Mitchell of Marietta and Charlotte (Lester) Bray of Fayetteville; brother Everett (Bettye) Butler of Marietta and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 25, 2008, 11 AM at New Hope Baptist Church, Fayetteville. Rev. Wally Woodcock and Dr. Jim Hudgins will officiate. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.
